A year ago, Ophir introduced a new product for wide and divergent beams, the Wide Beam Imager.

Now Ophir is releasing evolutionary product a new version, designated for SWIR range of 900-1700nm, especially for the popular Eye Safe 1550 nm used in:

  • Data Telecommunication
  • Automotive
  • Remote sensing
  • Face and gesture recognition

The new WB-I accessory is designed to be connected to Ophir’s SP1203 InGaAs cameras, and extends the camera’s effective aperture to fit wide and divergent light sources of up 45 mm diameter.

The portable design of the WB-I enables on-site beam profiling of VCSELs and LED systems, as well as operation at production lines and R&D labs.

Variable beam attenuation, via a controllable iris, enables Real Time measuring of a wide range of light sources of different powers without needing manual ND filters replacement.

Measurement of divergent beams is significantly improved thanks to the possibility of up to 70° angle measurement, (compared to 15°for standard beam profiler sensors), which enables measuring both Beam Profile and Divergence.

The new WB-I SWIR accessory, together with the camera and the BeamGage software, provides real-time beam shape analysis and visualization of changes of the beam shape, such as VCSELs LIV sweep test (beam profile vs current .
