Tell us a little about yourself – What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy spending a lot of time with my family and I also love bike riding in the great outdoors (around the mountains to be exact)! it gives me a great chance to meet good friends, clear my mind and relax. My other passion is traveling – Getting to new places, meet different people, absorb local cultures & tastes, always seems to fill me with energy.

What’s the best aspect of the work you do? What do you find most satisfying?

As I see it, the best aspect is that I get to work closely with all of the departments in Ophir e.g, marketing, R&D, engineering and operations. The culture in Ophir is great – the teams are big on collaboration and I feel like everyone takes pride in what they do individually and as a team. The journey new products are going through facinates me, starting with the idea that answers the customer’s needs and up until products are created and released (and sometimes even become best sellers ). This process really gives me a sense of pride and essence to what I do.

What brought you to work in Ophir?

After many years in R&D and different marketing roles in the Telecom industry, developing products that were sold to the biggest service providers worldwide and IIoT devices for critical infrastructure applications, I’ve decided to make a change and explore new territories.
I looked for a stable global leading company, which is active in a growing markets and will allow me to express my knowledge as a product line manager and use my background in engineering.
Ophir answered all my expectations and more.

How do you keep up on the latest developments in laser and photonic measurements?

Well, This is a big challenge indeed. There is a lot of information to gather and as Ophir is very active in multiple industries e.g – semiconductors , heavy industry, medical and more, I always feel the need to explore…
Firstly, I maintain constant and tight connection with our sales, business development and R&D teams, who are all experts in the laser measurement field.
Secondly -During customers visits, I seeze the opportunity to ask questions not only to find out the latest development in different laser markets, but also to understand our customers main pain points and how we in Ophir can help them solve their problems.
Another valuable source to learn about our market needs, are the other MKS companies which provide important inputs from their perspectives.
And lastly, the “external” resources I turn to as I seek to learn about new developments are trade shows, articles and other publications.

As new applications emerge, how does Ophir uses its micro material processing and industrial high-power expertise to keep pace?

As I see it Ophir keeps its advantage by analyzing the market needs and cooperate with other MKS’s companies to create growing demand for higher power. We see this in the heavy industry and in more delicate applications which use material micro processing technics.

In both areas Ophir is very active, and we recently released new sensors to address these two segments. We keep close connections with relevant stake holders in different organization to make sure we address their laser measurement needs properly taking under consuderation industries’ future needs as they foresee them.
