While some may opt for a Windows PC application such as Ophir’s StarLab to remotely monitor laser measurements from the Ariel, laser technicians on the move, who might for instance need to measure lasers in closed additive manufacturing chambers, may find the StarViewer iOS app a convenient solution.
Connect wirelessly via Bluetooth to the Ariel Power/Energy meter
The StarViewer iOS app for iPhone connects wirelessly via Bluetooth to the Ariel all-in-one laser Power/Energy meter. The Ariel is an ultracompact, industrial, robust, battery-powered laser power meter for measuring high power industrial lasers.
StarViewer provides various display options, including a line graph, a needle display resembling a speedometer, numerical and statistical information. Users can easily capture screenshots, and refresh the display as needed.
Set up measurement parameters easily
Accessing measurement settings is simple through the StarViewer main menu, allowing users to modify:-
- Measuring Modes: –
- CW Power
- Single Shot Energy
- Pulsed Power – special mode for measuring the average power of short exposures to high power lasers
- A selection of Diffuser/Window/Wavelength settings
- Set Power or Energy Ranges
- Zeroing
- Pass Fail – The displayed measurement turns red, and an optional beep can be sounded, when the measurement is over or under the user set limits
- Log Import – Upload to your iPhone a log file from the Ariel containing a record of the last measurements
For technicians who require quick, on-the-go laser measurements, StarViewer can prove to be an invaluable tool !
